Russian Reports of Agreement to Produce Sputnik V in France Denied

None of France’s pharmaceutical companies have signed a contract with Russia to produce its Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, a spokesman for France’s industry ministry said on Tuesday. The French reaction followed media reports by the head of Russia’s RDIF sovereign wealth fund stating an agreement had been sealed. Earlier, the head of RDIF said his organization had struck deals with production facilities in Italy, Spain, France and Germany to manufacture the Russian vaccine. “We have not identified a site which meets their requirements,” the French spokesperson added.
