No new EU sanctions on Moscow, for now
Reading Time: < 1 minuteDespite 150,000 Russian troops having grouped along Ukraine’s border, the largest deployment ever seen there, EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell said this week that the European Union is not preparing any new sanctions against Moscow, even though Kyiv is calling for a new round of economic sanctions. Citing communication with his counterparts from Germany and France, Ukraine’s foreign minister says such additional sectoral sanctions may be inevitable due to Moscow’s actions.
Regarding eastern Ukraine and Crimea, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has also called for a diplomatic solution, but Russia has refused to enter into such discussions.
